Full-service, independent marketing communications agency, Skin Communications, in partnership with media facilitation partner, The Grove Media, has been appointed to provide media planning and buying services in Germany on behalf of the Conseil Interprofessionnel du Vin de Bordeaux (CIVB), the organisation that represents and promotes Bordeaux wines, following a competitive tender.

This award extends the agencies’ scope for Bordeaux Wines to now include two primary markets, having been awarded the UK market in 2021.

Campaigns will launch this Autumn across a variety of media including BVOD, digital out of home, digital audio, video and social, to showcase the diversity of Bordeaux reds and raise consideration and purchase intent amongst German wine consumers.

Ian Southey, co-founder of Skin, said “This win is a testament to the client-centric and strong strategic planning approach the team has delivered to the CIVB in the last 20 months, and demonstrates that opportunities in markets outside the UK are achievable for independents and not necessarily just suited for the network agencies”.

Cécile Huvé, Marketing Manager UK & Germany at the CIVB, commented “Our long term successful UK partnership with Skin Communications and the Grove Media, coupled with their robust audience insight and channel rationale submitted in their tender, gives us complete confidence in our decision to appoint them as our chosen media agency partners in Germany.”
